Shelby County, TN Register’s Office Close to Public

A Message from Shelandra T Ford, Shelby County Register

Our top priority is the health and well-being of our employees and staff. In this unprecedented time with the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic growing, the Register of Deeds office will temporarily close to the public. The closure began Thursday, March 19, at 12 p.m. and will last until further notice. In an effort to help flatten the curve and to ensure the continued health of our employees and customers, we have reached this difficult decision. We recognize that this situation is dynamic.

While the office is closed to the public, customers will always be served by continuing to mail filings to Register Shelandra Y. Ford, 1075 Mullins Station Road, Building W3, Suite W165, Memphis, TN, 38134 or electronically file records online. We encourage customers to electronically file records and sign up today.

For those customers who generally come to the Register’s office, a secure document drop-off slot will be available starting Monday, March 23rd at 9 a.m.-11 a.m. and 2 p.m.- 4 p.m. right outside our front door. Staff will be available at 901-222-8100 during our normal business hours. Bulk drop-off filers should call ahead to arrange for delivering their documents. After recording and fee payment, documents submitted that have been appropriately processed will be returned by mail. We will provide updates on any changes in our operations by posting updates on our website. Thank you for your understanding as we work together to ensure a safe environment for our employees and customers.
